About Manolis Anagnostakis

Manolis Anagnostakis (1925-2005) was one of the most important Greek poets of the post-war generation. His work addressed themes of political engagement, historical memory, and the individual’s relationship with society. The poet’s centenary and the twentieth anniversary of his passing provide an opportunity for scholars to reassess his contribution to modern Greek literature.

Free Admission for All Events

All conference sessions and parallel cultural events are open to the public with free admission. The Society for Corfiot Studies encourages both academic participants and members of the general public interested in Greek poetry and literature to attend.

The Solomos Museum, located in Corfu’s historic center, provides an appropriate venue for this literary conference, being dedicated to another major Greek poet, Dionysios Solomos, author of the Greek national anthem.

This marks the latest in the Society for Corfiot Studies’ ongoing commitment to promoting scholarly research and cultural dialogue about Greek literature, history, and arts. The annual November conferences have become one of the organization’s flagship events since their inception two decades ago.
