Release Athens 2026: Saxon and Helloween Unite for a Legendary Night

Release Athens 2026 proudly announces that legendary British heavy metal band Saxon will join headliners Helloween on Friday, July 10th, at Plateia Nerou. This highly anticipated event promises an unforgettable night, bringing together two European metal legends who have significantly shaped the genre.

Saxon, now in their fourth decade of making music, continue to be a formidable force in heavy metal. The band, featuring Peter “Biff” Byford (vocals), Brian Tatler and Doug Scarratt (guitars), Nibbs Carter (bass), and Nigel Glockler (drums), maintains the tradition they helped create. With over 20 million albums sold worldwide, including classics like “Wheels of Steel,” “Strong Arm of the Law,” and “Denim and Leather,” Saxon’s influence remains as strong today as it was in the 1980s.

Their recently released 2024 album, “Hell, Fire and Damnation,” was voted among the Top 10 metal albums of last year by Metal Hammer magazine readers, underscoring Saxon’s continued relevance and top-tier performance. In 2024, Saxon toured Europe as special guests of Judas Priest, closed Hellfest after Metallica, and performed at numerous other major European metal festivals. Their successful and almost sold-out European tour earlier this year sets the stage for a jam-packed calendar of global tours and shows.
