Athens at the Forefront of Global Innovation Dialogue
For three days, the Greek capital was at the epicenter of discussions concerning technological advancements, artificial intelligence, the future of work, education, investments, and new business creation. The event served as a crucial platform for networking and exchanging ideas among individuals shaping the future of innovation on an international scale.
The festival attracted more than 11,500 registrations from 60 countries, with nearly 30% of participants coming from abroad. The startup community showed a strong presence, with over 3,000 startuppers actively participating, underscoring Panathēnea’s objective to bridge the Greek business scene with the international ecosystem.
Extensive Program and Community Engagement
The dynamic nature of the event extended beyond its central venues, with over 90 parallel events taking place throughout the city. From investor-founder meetings to thematic discussions and networking events, Athens functioned as an open network for collaboration and knowledge exchange for three days. The significant contribution of 440 volunteers also played a crucial role in supporting the organization.
A highlight of the festival was the international startup competition, which drew over 100 entries from 20 countries. Six teams advanced to the final, presenting their innovative ideas to investors and business community representatives. GIGPOSSIBLE emerged as the winner of this year’s competition.
Key Announcements and Strategic Partnerships
Beyond discussions and networking activities, Panathēnea also served as a platform for important announcements with broader developmental and social impact. During the event, a collaboration between the Greek government and ElevenLabs was announced, aiming to provide advanced artificial intelligence tools for the creation of Greek-language educational and cultural content. This announcement was made during a discussion between Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and ElevenLabs co-founder Mati Staniszewski.
Furthermore, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Education, Religions and Sports and Canva, providing free access to the Canva Education platform for students and teachers. These initiatives highlighted the festival’s role as a meeting point not only for the business and technological ecosystem but also for partnerships with tangible impact on the country’s education and digital transformation.
Lefteris Katsiadakis, CEO of the Panathēnea organization, stated: “Our vision is to create an international meeting point for people shaping the future of technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation, placing Greece on the global map of ecosystems that produce real impact.”
