During her visit, Ms. Shekerinska delivered a keynote speech at the Defence Exhibition Athens (DEFEA), where she highlighted the critical role of the defense industry in ensuring the safety of NATO citizens.
Emphasis on Increased Defense Investment and Transatlantic Cooperation
In her address, the Deputy Secretary General stressed the necessity of increased defense investment in an increasingly volatile global landscape. She pointed out that NATO Allies are actively enhancing cooperation in defense industrial production, working collaboratively with the European Union, Indo-Pacific partners, and Ukraine. During her trip, the Deputy Secretary General held meetings with key Greek officials, including Defence Minister Nikos Dendias and Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandra Papadopoulou. She also attended a dinner hosted by the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP).
