Zolotas Beach at Four Seasons Astir Palace Athens Reimagined for a Greek Summer

The scent of the Aegean Sea mingles with the subtle aroma of charcoal-grilled delicacies as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the Athenian Riviera in hues of orange and purple. This summer, a transformation has taken place at one of Athens’ most cherished coastal havens: Zolotas Beach at the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens. It’s not just a renovation; it’s a reimagining, a heartfelt homage to Greek summer, brought to life through the vibrant vision of Athens-born creative Rianna, founder of the luxury fashion label RIANNA + NINA.

A Canvas of Memories: Rianna’s Vision for Zolotas Beach

Rianna, whose formative summers were spent amidst the iconic Astir Palace Hotel, has poured her childhood memories and deep-seated connection to the Astir peninsula into every detail of the renewed Zolotas Beach. From June 18, 2026, this secluded shoreline transforms into an exclusive open-air restaurant every Thursday to Monday, welcoming a select 20 to 30 guests each evening. It’s a unique fusion of fashion, art, and gastronomy, where every textile, every dish, tells a story.

The internationally beloved brand RIANNA + NINA is renowned for its expressive, storytelling approach to textile design. Here, Rianna has collaborated with the hotel team to craft a space that feels both nostalgic and utterly contemporary. Blue-and-white stripes, hand-drawn patterns, and vibrant Mediterranean motifs create a playful yet refined setting for sunset aperitivos and intimate dinners by the sea. Each signature pop of colour and characterful detail in the cushions, curtains, vintage rugs, and handcrafted tableware celebrates Rianna’s Greek craftsmanship, deepening guests’ connection to the destination.

“We’re delighted to work with Rianna to bring her cherished memories of the Athens Riviera to vibrant life,” comments Jann Kaiser, General Manager at Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens. “From the menu to the design, every element is a homage to Greek culture – colourful, expressive, and crafted with precision, passion and love.”

Stories Served By the Sea: A Culinary Journey

The culinary experience at the reimagined Zolotas Beach is as deeply rooted in Greek heritage as its design. Chef Thodoris Papanikolaou, in a meeting of creative minds with Rianna, has crafted an à la carte selection of dishes showcasing carefully sourced ingredients cooked in an open-flame parrilla. This fire-led dining evokes timeless Greek traditions and Rianna’s treasured family memories of summers on the Astir peninsula.

Rianna’s highlights include Charcoal-Grilled Pita with sea salt, fresh oregano, and a touch of tarama – a dish she describes as “the way to begin every true Greek gathering.” The playful, tomato-rich N-Tacos celebrate the abundant vibrancy of seasonal produce, while Lamb Kontosouvli is inspired by Rianna’s childhood holidays with her grandmother. Perhaps the most poignant offering is Kakavia – the traditional fisherman’s soup – which Rianna calls the menu’s “emotional highlight.” This is a dish prepared during her childhood by a beloved taverna owner only when the catch was exceptional, carrying with it the weight of tradition and the taste of the sea’s bounty.

“No narrative of Greek family life would be complete without dessert,” Rianna adds. Her favourite, Ravani, a Sunday staple in the family home, has been reimagined for Four Seasons guests with roasted pineapple and coconut ice cream, offering a sweet conclusion to a memorable meal. The wine menu focuses on Mediterranean regions, highlighting bright, terroir-driven sips that perfectly pair with grilled flavours, while refreshing cocktails incorporate local herbs, citrus, and subtle smoky notes, designed to complement the vivid Riviera sunsets.

Taking a Piece of Greece Home

For those wishing to extend their Greek summer experience, the Hotel’s spa boutique offers a selection of exclusive items designed by Rianna for Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens. Beach towels, placemats, and bespoke tableware feature the same bright colours and patterns found at Zolotas Beach, allowing guests to take home their own piece of Greek artistry and the vibrant spirit of the Athenian Riviera.
