SLIFT, renowned for their explosive heavy psych sound, are making their way back to Athens for a psychedelic ascension at ARCH Club. The trio, consisting of brothers Jean and Rémi Fossat and Canek Flores, will perform on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 21:00. Special guests Puta Volcano and opening act Pissed-Off Kid will also be featured, promising a night of absolute sonic intensity.
From Toulouse to the Edges of Psych-Metal
Hailing from Toulouse, France, SLIFT effortlessly navigates between stoner, garage, and psych-metal. Their sound is massive and cosmic, perfectly balancing raw energy with existential tension. Their journey to the forefront of the genre has been consistent and impressive:
- Their debut EP, Space Is the Key, laid the groundwork for their distinctive sound.
- With La Planète Inexplorée, the band began to unfold more ambitious, multi-layered compositions.
- A turning point came in 2020 when their KEXP session at Trans Musicales garnered over 1.7 million views, introducing them to a global audience.
- The album UMMON saw them delve deep into the extremes of psych-metal, featuring massive basslines, relentless drumming, and riffs that spread like black holes.
- In 2024, they released ILION (Sub Pop), a dense, colossal record and a cosmic take-off reminiscent of the ecstasy of Godspeed You! Black Emperor and the mysticism of Led Zeppelin, while maintaining their own uncontrollable identity.
A Live Experience That Becomes Physical
Above all, SLIFT is an incomparable live band. Their performances are moments where sound becomes physical, where tracks transform into sonic maelstroms, and the audience literally levitates. With a new album on the horizon for 2026, they return to Greece promising volume, intensity, and a complete sonic lift-off.
