Key Reminders for Residents:
The Municipality reminds citizens of the following prohibitions and guidelines to avoid penalties:
- Prohibition of depositing bulky items in public spaces, on sidewalks, or roadways. Residents are advised to contact the Municipality’s request line (26610 24444) to arrange for the removal of bulky items (2 to 3 small pieces of furniture) from their premises. Alternatively, if possible, they can transport these items to the Green Point facility on Eptanisou Street (Tri Géfyria area).
- Prohibition of placing any type of waste outside designated bins.
- Prohibition of parking vehicles in front of bins or on marked areas prohibiting parking near bins.
It is also noted that waste collection occurs not only during night hours but also during the day and at any time deemed necessary. The Municipality urges the understanding and cooperation of its citizens to ensure that waste collection vehicles can access bins without hindrance.
This initiative underscores the Municipality’s commitment to improving public hygiene and ensuring that waste management regulations are respected by all. The strict enforcement of these rules is expected to contribute significantly to the aesthetic and environmental quality of Corfu and its Diapontia Islands.
The municipality emphasizes that these measures are crucial for the collective well-being and appearance of the region. By adhering to the regulations, residents can play a vital role in maintaining a clean and healthy environment for everyone.
