Release Athens Festival 2026: Special Offers for Metal Days Announced

Athens, January 25, 2026 – The Release Athens Festival, celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, has announced special offers for its dedicated metal days. The festival, which has previously hosted thousands of metal fans with acts like Slipknot, Judas Priest, Gojira, and Dream Theater, will feature three days of pure metal with legendary names.

Three Intense Metal Days at Release Athens 2026

The metal festivities kick off on Tuesday, June 30, with performances by Megadeth and Sepultura. These two influential heavy metal bands will share the stage as part of their farewell tours, marking a highly symbolic night and their last major rendezvous with the Greek audience.

On Friday, July 10, Release Athens will welcome Helloween to Water Square. Following their epic 2023 performance at the same venue, the German power metal pioneers return for an exhilarating show featuring all their greatest hits. They will be joined by another legendary European metal band, Saxon, and the duo Ashes of Ares.

Saturday, July 25, will showcase another impressive lineup. Sabaton, stronger than ever, will close the festival, four years after their initial appearance at the same venue. They will be accompanied by Savatage, who return to Athens after many years as ideal co-headliners, completing a lineup that also includes the much-loved symphonic metal representatives, Epica.
