The Municipality of Central Corfu has announced overwhelmingly positive results from the operation of its Small Green Point, just one month after its official launch. This initiative has confirmed the enthusiastic public response and the increasing environmental awareness within the local community.

What is the Small Green Point?

The Small Green Point is a designated facility where citizens can deposit their used recyclable packaging, which is then collected in distinct streams according to established recycling procedures. A significant number of residents are already utilizing this service, often having pre-sorted their recyclable materials from home. For those who need assistance, municipal employees are on hand to provide on-site support and guidance on proper sorting and suitable materials for recycling.

What Can You Recycle?

Current data indicates that the largest quantities of incoming materials include plastic, paper, electrical and electronic appliances, and bulky items like mattresses. The controlled disposal of bulky items and mattresses at the Green Point significantly reduces uncontrolled dumping in public spaces, positively impacting cleanliness and the aesthetics of the urban environment.

The Municipality urges all citizens to continue their active participation in environmental protection and the significant improvement of quality of life by utilizing the Small Green Point. Below is a detailed list of recyclable materials and the operating hours.
