Corfu, Greece – The PAS Florina organization experienced a dynamic and event-filled weekend on November 15 and 16, 2025, with various teams participating in matches and a cultural excursion to Corfu, the capital of the Ionian Islands.
U16 Team Maintains Perfect Record, Men’s Team Secures Victory
The weekend commenced with success for PAS Florina’s U16 team, which secured its third consecutive win in the EPS Kozani championship. Competing against Akrites Kozani, the U16 squad achieved a perfect 3-0 record, accumulating 9 points in the league.
In the afternoon, the men’s team also celebrated a victory, defeating Kalliniki with a score of 2-0. These early successes set a positive tone for the club’s busy schedule.
Women’s and U12 Teams Journey to Corfu
Following the men’s team’s match, the women’s team and the U12 squad departed for Corfu. Their itinerary included double-header matches against the Sfakinakis Football Club Academy.
However, the women’s team faced a challenging encounter against AE Kanoni of Corfu. Despite an early lead thanks to a goal from Soumelidou, PAS Florina’s women ultimately suffered a 3-1 defeat.
Leisure and Cultural Exploration in Corfu
Beyond the football pitches, the PAS Florina delegation enjoyed some leisure time on Saturday evening. On Sunday afternoon, the teams took the opportunity to explore Corfu’s charming ‘kantounia’ (narrow streets) and other points of interest across the island. A significant part of their cultural immersion included a pilgrimage to the Holy Church of Saint Spyridon, the patron saint of Corfu.
Return and Future Preparations
The PAS Florina contingent returned to their base late on Sunday evening, concluding a weekend that blended competitive sports with cultural discovery. The teams are now back in training, preparing for upcoming friendly matches scheduled for the following weekend.
