TUI Launches Flights from UK to Corfu on May 1st, Connecting 15 Cities

Corfu, April 22, 2026 – TUI is set to begin its flight operations from the United Kingdom to Corfu on May 1st, 2026, with services scheduled to continue until October 2026. This move is expected to bolster the tourism sector on the island, providing direct connections from 15 cities across Great Britain.

These flights are exclusively from the UK, as TUI has been operating routes from other European countries to ‘Ioannis Kapodistrias’ Airport for several years. TUI joins Easyjet, Jet2, and British Airways as one of the leading carriers connecting Corfu with the UK, which traditionally accounts for the highest number of visitor arrivals during the summer season.

During peak days, approximately 50 out of 100 daily aircraft arrivals at Corfu Airport originate from British airports. These flights utilize aircraft types such as A319, A320, A321, B737-800, and B737 MAX8, capable of transporting between 150 and 244 passengers. The exact numbers are approximate, as each airline maintains its own seating policy for its fleet.

Flight Schedule and Key Hubs

TUI’s flights will link Corfu with 15 UK cities, with routes operating frequently throughout the week, though not on a daily basis for all connections. The most frequent services will be to and from London and Manchester airports. The airline will primarily use B737-800 and B737MAX8 medium-haul aircraft for these routes.

Impact on Corfu’s Tourism

Great Britain consistently ranks as the primary source market for tourists visiting Corfu. The increased connectivity provided by TUI is anticipated to further strengthen this trend, contributing significantly to the local economy and supporting businesses in the hospitality and tourism sectors.

Increased Connectivity for British Tourists

The addition of TUI’s services enhances the travel options available to British holidaymakers, making Corfu more accessible. This development is crucial for maintaining and growing the island’s appeal as a top European destination.

Anticipated Economic Benefits

Local tourism stakeholders express optimism regarding the economic benefits of these new flights. The influx of tourists is expected to boost revenue for hotels, restaurants, tour operators, and other related businesses on the island.

This strategic expansion by TUI underscores the enduring popularity of Corfu as a prime holiday destination for British travelers and signals a positive outlook for the upcoming tourist season.
