ATHENS, December 9 – Snappi, the pioneering Greek neobank that secured its operating license from the European Central Bank, today unveiled a groundbreaking initiative for digital banks. The company inaugurated the Snappi Hub, its first physical location at Korai 5 in the heart of Athens. This move demonstrates that digital innovation can indeed have a tangible presence, catering to its growing user base and the burgeoning community of digital nomads.

Snappi Hub: More Than a Bank Branch, a Co-working & Event Space

The Snappi Hub is not a traditional bank branch but rather an inspiring and interactive space built on an open philosophy of innovation. Snappi users can reserve and utilize the space for two-hour work sessions via the Snappi website. Furthermore, the hub will host a diverse array of events, ranging from research presentations and talks to interactive sessions with community members, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Investing in Financial Literacy: “What the Finance” Initiative

Gabriella Kindert, CEO of Snappi, stated that the Hub represents a “tangible extension” of the bank’s commitment to transparency and innovation. In collaboration with the Hellenic Institute of Financial Literacy and Professor Nikos Filippas, Snappi is spearheading the “What the Finance” initiative. This program aims to empower citizens to manage their finances with confidence, thereby freeing up time for pursuits that truly matter in life.

Rapid Growth Story: 120 Employees and a Target of 50,000 Users

Snappi, which maintains its headquarters in Ioannina as a key part of the Greek startup ecosystem, is experiencing rapid expansion. The company currently boasts a team of 120 highly skilled employees, reflecting its significant investment in human capital. Snappi aims to reach 50,000 users by the end of the year. The demographic profile of its user base is particularly noteworthy, with the majority falling within the 18-35 age bracket, underscoring its strong appeal to Gen Z and Millennials.

Upcoming Innovations: Robo Advisor and Cash Now 2.0

Snappi has ambitious plans for introducing new services in the coming months:

  • January – Cash Now 2.0: This service will provide short-term financing with a fee, offering immediate liquidity with repayment options spanning one to three months.
  • February/March – Robo Advisor: Snappi will enter the wealth management sector by the end of February, offering automated investment recommendations.

Notably, Snappi remains the only neobank in Europe to provide 24/7 human customer service in Greek, deliberately avoiding the use of chatbots to ensure a personalized and supportive user experience.

Community Engagement and Future Outlook

The opening of the Snappi Hub signifies a strategic move to blend digital convenience with physical community building. By offering a dedicated space for users and fostering financial literacy, Snappi is not only expanding its services but also strengthening its connection with its clientele. This approach is particularly appealing to digital nomads who seek flexible work environments and robust financial tools.

The neobank’s commitment to human-centric customer service, coupled with its innovative product roadmap, positions Snappi as a significant player in the evolving landscape of European digital banking. The company’s rapid growth and focus on a younger demographic suggest a promising trajectory for its future development and its impact on the Greek financial sector.
