School Wave Corfu 2026: Upper Square to Host Youth Music Festival Again

Corfu, February 18, 2026 – The Corfu Music School, in collaboration with its 15-member Student Council and the Parents & Guardians Association, has announced an open call for student and university bands to participate in “School Wave 2026.” This one-day festival is dedicated to showcasing youth music creation in Corfu, following the significant success of last year’s event.

Last year, on May 9th, the historic Upper Square (Pano Plateia) was transformed into a vibrant concert party, exceeding all expectations with its pulse, music, and hundreds of young attendees. The overwhelming turnout and public reception underscored the need for a dedicated institution celebrating the island’s young musical talents. This year, organizers are returning with renewed vigor, aiming to establish School Wave as an annual musical rendezvous for the youth.

Who Can Participate?

  • Student bands (Gymnasiums & Lyceums)
  • University bands
  • All musical genres are welcome

The festival emphasizes participation and is non-competitive, fostering a supportive environment for emerging artists.

What the Festival Offers:

  • A central stage in the Upper Square
  • Full sound and technical support
  • Live performance experience in front of a large audience
  • Photographic & videographic coverage

Application Process

Interested groups are invited to submit the following:

  • Band name
  • Short biography
  • Demo or live video
  • Contact details for a representative

The deadline for submissions is April 9th. Applications can be sent via email to [email protected] or by calling 6987394910.

“Let’s fill the Upper Square with sound again. Let’s give space to the new generation,” stated Eleni Koronaki, who works at Enimerosi Publications and specializes in public relations, freelance, and artistic reporting. Her involvement highlights the community-driven nature of this initiative.

This event is poised to be a significant cultural highlight for Corfu, providing a crucial platform for young musicians to express their creativity and connect with a wider audience. The organizers hope that School Wave 2026 will further solidify its place as a beloved annual tradition, nurturing the vibrant music scene among the island’s youth.
