Broad St. Suite 205, the new establishment welcomed customers from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., introducing a fresh concept to the local culinary scene.

Described as a “neighborhood bakery café,” Paris Baguette aims to provide a warm and inviting atmosphere where guests can enjoy a wide array of baked goods. The aroma of fresh pastries wafted from the storefront, drawing in Athens residents who expressed enthusiasm for the new culinary addition.
The menu at Paris Baguette is extensive, featuring everything from specialty cakes to classic French pastries such as croissants and donuts. Beyond sweet treats, the café also offers a selection of salads and sandwiches, catering to a variety of tastes. Complementing the food offerings is a comprehensive café menu, boasting dozens of hot and iced beverage options.
Early Visitors Praise Offerings and Service
Sarah Horner, a junior sports management major at the University of Georgia, was among the first patrons to experience the soft opening. She shared her positive impression of the new bakery.
“The employees were very nice and very welcoming, and they encouraged a lot of good tries,” Horner stated. “My favorite thing was this strawberry cream filled donut… it was really good.” She expressed eagerness to return and explore more items from the menu.
A Seamless Self-Serve Experience
Cassie Willis, manager of the Athens Paris Baguette location, outlined the unique self-serve process designed for customer convenience. “They’ll come in the door, they’ll go to the right, they’ll get a tray…they’ll pick whatever pastries they would like,” Willis explained. “When you get to the counter, you tell the ladies or gentlemen at the counter whatever [you] want, and they’ll get it from the case and box it for you.”
Expanding Presence in Georgia
Founded in South Korea, Paris Baguette has established a significant presence globally, with numerous locations across the United States and other countries. The Athens establishment marks a notable expansion for the brand within Georgia, bringing its unique blend of bakery and café culture to a new market.
Willis highlighted the diverse appeal of the new location, noting, “We got a lot of college students who are from all over and have encountered Paris baguettes in other areas. I’ve also got a lot of friends who heard of it, but have never [been] it’s the only one we have in town, and it’s the only thing like it.”
A New Hotspot for the Community
The opening of Paris Baguette contributes to the growing list of new restaurants and eateries expanding into the Athens area. The bakery café is open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a grand opening event scheduled to take place in approximately two weeks.
Willis expressed her hopes for the new establishment, stating, “I’m hoping it becomes a hot spot for people to just sit, chill and have fun, enjoy pastries and just maybe some conversation.”
The arrival of Paris Baguette is anticipated to become a popular destination for both University of Georgia students and Athens residents, offering a fresh option for breakfast, lunch, and casual gatherings.
