Corfu’s New Small Green Point in Tria Gefyria: A Comprehensive Guide

The Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands is proud to announce the official inauguration of its new Small Green Point, located in Tria Gefyria (Eptanisou Street). The opening ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 12:00 PM, with Mayor Stefanos Poulis and Ionian Islands Regional Governor Giannis Trepeklis in attendance.
This project, crucial for promoting a circular economy and proper waste management on the island, was funded by the European INTERREG “WASTE RREACT” Greece – Albania 2014-2020 program, with the Ionian Islands Region as the implementing body. Supplementary funding was secured from the Municipality’s own resources.
Residents will now have the opportunity to deliver separated recyclable materials at the source, significantly contributing to the reduction of landfill waste.
What Can You Recycle?
The facility provides an organized infrastructure for all major recycling streams:
- Glass
- Plastic
- Paper
- Aluminum
- Plastic bottle caps
- Styrofoam
- Toners – Inks
- Electronic and electrical equipment
- Batteries
- Light bulbs
- Textile items
- Used cooking oils
- Mattresses (up to 1-2 per resident)
- Small furniture (chairs, armchairs, small tables – up to 1-2 items per resident)
Reuse Initiative: Give Second Life to Your Items
A dedicated container at the site will also serve as a collection point for clothes for small children, books, bags, and toys. Items in good and clean condition will be made available for free to families and individuals in need, fostering social solidarity and a culture of reuse within the community.
Operating Hours
The Green Point will operate from Monday to Saturday, 08:30 – 15:00 (excluding public holidays).
