Corfu, January 15, 2026 – The next few days in Corfu are expected to bring mild weather conditions, with southerly winds and temperatures that could reach up to 16°C in some areas. According to MeteoCorfu, a weak combination of high pressure over the central Mediterranean and lower pressure over the eastern Mediterranean will maintain light easterly winds across the region.

Atmospheric Conditions and Wind Patterns

The prevailing atmospheric pattern will result in light easterly winds. These winds are anticipated to gradually strengthen, reaching up to 5 Beaufort, particularly over the southern Ionian Sea. Paxos, in particular, is expected to experience these stronger winds during the upcoming weekend, January 17-18.

Cloud Cover and Precipitation Outlook

The weather forecast indicates a period of variable cloud cover with intermittent sunny spells. The chances of significant rainfall remain very limited. However, there is a possibility of brief, light drizzle and localized passing light showers, primarily through Friday, January 16.

Temperature Fluctuations and Future Outlook

A slight increase in maximum temperatures is expected in the coming days, with values reaching between 16°C and 17°C locally. From Sunday, January 18, a gradual decrease in temperatures is forecast, with maximums dropping to around 12°C by Tuesday, January 20. The latest forecast data suggests that this temperature decline will likely be accompanied by rainfall early next week.

Fog Formation and Humidity Levels

Local fog formation is possible, especially in mountainous areas and interior lowlands, predominantly during night and early morning hours. On Mount Pantokrator, due to increased humidity, fog may persist for longer durations. Relative humidity is expected to remain very high, ranging between 80% and 99%, throughout the day and night for the next two days.

Detailed Wind Forecast

  • Thursday & Friday (January 15-16): Southeasterly winds up to 4 Beaufort, with gusts reaching 5 Beaufort around the Diapontia Islands.
  • Western Coasts of Corfu and Paxos: Winds of 3 Beaufort, with gusts up to 4 Beaufort.

The weather report was prepared by Nikolaos Vlachos, an amateur meteorologist and forecaster.
