Three renowned Hollywood actors, Cillian Murphy, Daniel Craig, and Michelle Williams, are expected to arrive in Greece this spring to participate in the filming of a new motion picture. The production, helmed by Oscar-winning director Damien Chazelle, known for “La La Land,” is scheduled to take place from March to May in Corfu and Athens.
A Star-Studded Cast for a New Drama
The untitled drama, penned by Chazelle himself, is set within a prison. The historic Corfu Old Prison facilities, with their distinctive architectural design by Jeremy Bentham, featuring 10 radially arranged buildings around a central administration office, have been selected as the ideal backdrop for the film’s intense narrative.
Justin Hurwitz, Chazelle’s long-time collaborator and the film’s composer, has reportedly described the script as “the best he has ever read,” generating significant anticipation within the global film community.
Hollywood’s Finest Converge in Greece
The project has garnered considerable attention due to its exceptionally strong cast, bringing together three major names in contemporary cinema:
- Cillian Murphy: Fresh off his Oscar-winning performance in “Oppenheimer,” Murphy has solidified his reputation as an actor of profound talent and versatility.
- Daniel Craig: Widely recognized for his iconic portrayal of James Bond, Craig has become synonymous with one of cinema’s most beloved characters, having been the sixth actor to embody Agent 007.
- Michelle Williams: A leading actress of her generation, Williams has consistently demonstrated her exceptional acting prowess, earning three Golden Globe Awards and five Oscar nominations for her roles in films such as “Blue Valentine,” “My Week with Marilyn,” and “Brokeback Mountain.”
The combination of these three extraordinary actors under the direction of Chazelle, whose previous works have consistently captivated audiences, along with the scenic Greek landscapes, promises a compelling cinematic experience. The film will be released by Paramount Pictures, with the participation of the Greek production company Heretic.
