Corfu Philatelic Society to Convene General Assembly and Elect New Board

Corfu, February 26 – The Corfu Philatelic Society has announced its regular General Assembly, scheduled for Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 18:00. The meeting will be held in the hall of the Corfu School of Arts, located at D. Kavvada 20, above the Public Market.

The General Assembly will address several key topics, including a review of the past Board of Directors’ activities, an update on the Society’s assets, collection, and archives, and the election of an Auditing Committee. A significant agenda item will be the elections for a new Board of Directors, which will serve a two-year term from 2026 to 2028. Additionally, the agenda includes a section for announcements.

Key Agenda Items:

  • Report on the activities of the previous Board of Directors.
  • Update on the Society’s assets, collection, and archives.
  • Election of the Auditing Committee.
  • Elections for the new Board of Directors (2026-2028).
  • Announcements.

Members interested in joining the Society or those wishing to run for a position on the new Board of Directors are required to submit a written application at least five days prior to the General Assembly. The deadline for submission is March 7, 2026. Applications should be sent to the email address provided in the Society’s statutes.

The current call for the General Assembly was issued by the Board of Directors of the Corfu Philatelic Society. This event is crucial for the continued functioning and future direction of the Society, as it provides an opportunity for members to engage with its governance and elect new leadership.

The meeting is expected to attract a significant number of members, reflecting their commitment to the preservation and promotion of philately in Corfu. The Corfu School of Arts provides a central and accessible location for all attendees.

The previous General Assembly and elections were held on March 12, 2006, highlighting a twenty-year gap in the provided information regarding the society’s activities. The upcoming elections will therefore mark a significant moment for the organization.

Eleni Koronaki, who works at Enimerosi Publications since 1990 and specializes in public relations, free and artistic reporting, reported on this announcement.
