Athens, May 21, 2026 – Release Athens 2026 is set to host a powerful night of metal as Bodysnatcher, a leading name in modern deathcore, makes their highly anticipated debut in Greece. The American band will perform on Thursday, July 9th, at Plateia Nerou, sharing the stage with metal giants Pantera and Trivium for what promises to be one of the summer’s most raw and intense musical experiences.
Bodysnatcher: A Force in Extreme Music
Formed in Florida in 2014, Bodysnatcher has rapidly ascended to become one of the most prominent acts in the contemporary extreme music scene. Drawing their name inspiration from Ed Gein, the infamous criminal who influenced classic horror films such as Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho, the band has cultivated a reputation for an incredibly violent sound that seamlessly blends deathcore and hardcore elements. Their explosive live performances have further solidified their standing in the genre.
The band’s lineup features Kyle Medina on vocals, Kyle Carter on guitar, Kyle Shope on bass, and Chris Whited on drums. Bodysnatcher’s journey began with the Abandonment EP in 2015, followed by their debut album, Death of Me, in 2017. Their discography includes notable releases such as Bleed-Abide (2022), the Vile Conduct EP, and their latest offering, Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home, which Kerrang! lauded as “the most brutal album of the year.” These releases mark what is arguably the pinnacle of their career to date, showcasing their continuous evolution and unwavering intensity.
Anticipation Builds for Greek Debut
Bodysnatcher’s arrival in Greece for the first time is perfectly timed, as they are at the height of their creative and performative powers. Fans can expect an exceptionally intense and unforgettable live show, adding a significant layer of aggression and energy to this year’s Release Athens festival.
