Athens Street Photography Festival (ASPF) to Host International Competition
Athens, April 2, 2026 – Athens is gearing up to become a focal point for street photography enthusiasts worldwide with the inaugural Athens Street Photography Festival (ASPF), set to take place from May 14 to 17, 2026. The festival has officially launched its international photography competition, inviting photographers globally to share their unique interpretations of urban life.
A New Cultural Landmark for Athens
The festival, headquartered at the TAF – “The Art Foundation” art space, seeks to fill a significant void in Greece’s cultural landscape and establish itself as a premier event for contemporary urban photography. A major component of the program is the international photography competition, where photographers are encouraged to submit their distinctive views of the everyday street.
Distinguished participants will have their work showcased in the festival’s central exhibition, and their names will be announced during a special ceremony on the final day of the event.
Competition Details and Submission Guidelines
Participants in the international photography competition can submit up to three (3) photographs via email to [email protected]. The initial submission is free of charge. However, for photographs selected by the judging panel, a fee of €50 per work will apply to cover printing costs. The competition will run until April 5, 2026. Submitted photographs must have been taken between 2024 and 2026, with a maximum file size of 5 MB and a long side of 1500 pixels.
Esteemed Jury and Comprehensive Program
The ASPF has assembled a notable panel of international judges. The final selection will be co-signed by the internationally acclaimed Greek photographer Nikos Economopoulos (Magnum Photos).
In addition to the exhibition, the ASPF program will feature talks by distinguished photographers, photowalks, portfolio reviews, and other activities designed to foster the creative community and promote street photography, all crafted to international standards.
Open Invitation to Participate
The ASPF extends an open invitation to photographers, art lovers, and the general public to become part of this inaugural event by participating.
