Air Serbia Strengthens Greek Network for Summer 2026

Athens, Greece – Air Serbia, the national carrier of Serbia, has announced a significant expansion of its flight operations in Greece for the summer 2026 season. Commencing March 29, the airline has implemented its new summer flight program, which includes increased frequencies to Athens and Thessaloniki, alongside the introduction of a new direct route to Santorini.

The airline’s summer schedule now covers over 100 destinations worldwide, utilizing a fleet of 30 aircraft. This expansion reflects Air Serbia’s strategy to bolster its presence in markets demonstrating strong demand, with Greece being a key focus.

Increased Connectivity to Major Greek Cities

Air Serbia’s commitment to the Greek market is evident in the enhanced connectivity to two of the country’s primary destinations: Athens and Thessaloniki. This move is expected to further strengthen the ties between Serbia and these important Greek hubs, facilitating both business and leisure travel.

In addition to the increased frequencies, Santorini joins Air Serbia’s network as a new destination. This strategic addition aligns with the broader trend of airlines seeking to build robust seasonal portfolios in the Mediterranean, capitalizing on the region’s popularity among tourists.

Wider Network Expansion and Milestones

Beyond Greece, Air Serbia is also introducing new routes to Brač, Alicante, Baku, and Seville for the summer season, with flights to Seville commencing in late September. A major highlight is the addition of Toronto, which becomes the airline’s fifth long-haul destination, complementing existing services to New York, Chicago, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.

Looking ahead, the airline plans to introduce direct flights to Tromsø and Tenerife during the upcoming winter season, further extending its reach from the Arctic North to the Canary Islands. Frequencies are also being increased to other popular destinations across Europe, including Brussels, Milan, Madrid, Lisbon, Prague, Vienna, Istanbul, Malta, Florence, and Nice. Within the wider region, more flights will be offered to Pula, Sofia, and Tivat.

This year marks a significant milestone for Air Serbia, celebrating the 10th anniversary of scheduled flights to New York. This route was the airline’s inaugural step into the North American market and continues to be one of its most popular and strategically important connections.

Enhanced Travel Experience for Passengers

Boško Rupić, General Manager of Commercial Affairs and Strategy at Air Serbia, stated that the current summer season offers more options than ever before. This includes both new routes and increased frequencies to popular destinations, all aimed at significantly enhancing the travel experience for passengers.

The airline’s comprehensive expansion reflects its ongoing commitment to providing diverse and convenient travel options, further solidifying its position in the competitive European and international aviation landscape.
