Corfu, April 11 – A 50-year-old local man was arrested on the evening of March 9, 2026, in Corfu by officers from the Crime Prevention and Suppression Team (OPDI). He faces charges for violating weapons legislation.
Arrest in Livadi Ropa Area
The arrest took place during targeted checks in the Livadi Ropa area. The individual was apprehended after two knives, with blade lengths of seven (7) and nine (9) centimeters respectively, were discovered in his possession and inside the vehicle he was driving.
Police Investigation and Legal Proceedings
A preliminary investigation into the case was conducted by the Corfu Police Department. The case file compiled against the 50-year-old will be forwarded to the Public Prosecutor of Corfu for further legal action.
