The hotel, developed by Alexander Corfu S.A., also launched its accompanying Crown on the Beach restaurant and beach bar, promising a unique blend of gastronomy and relaxation by the sea.

A New Landmark for Corfu Tourism

The opening of the Ionian Crown Hotel is not merely a business milestone but signifies the beginning of a long-term business and cultural presence in Corfu. The company emphasizes its commitment to consistency, transparency, and a strong connection with the local community and its institutions.

Stamatis Thiakos, President and CEO of Alexander Corfu S.A., expressed his conviction that the development of a tourism enterprise cannot be detached from the people and institutions of the place that hosts it. This philosophy underpins the hotel’s comprehensive approach to community engagement.

Extensive Community Support and Loyalty Programs

In line with its commitment to the local community, Alexander Corfu S.A. announced several initiatives aimed at supporting residents and institutions. These include:

  • Crown on the Beach (Restaurant & Beach Bar) Discounts:
    • 20% discount with a special loyalty card, valid on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
    • 30% discount for all visits every Wednesday (Corfu Day) with the special card.

    • Adult screenings every Thursday.

Scholarships and Training in Collaboration with Ionian University

The hotel is also making a tangible contribution to education and youth development in Corfu through a structured framework of scholarships and training programs in cooperation with the Ionian University. This initiative aims to foster academic excellence and provide professional development opportunities.

The scholarships and educational provisions for university staff and their families include:

  • Three Annual Scholarships (500.00 euros each): Awarded for two years to the top three scoring entrants in three departments of the Ionian University based in Corfu. This aims to encourage excellence and enhance access to higher education for local youth.
  • Three Annual Scholarships (3,000.00 euros each): Covering the cost of attending the Postgraduate Program “Digital Technologies in Hospitality Management and Tourism” for three years. These scholarships will be granted to the top three postgraduate students who successfully complete all courses of the first semester, linking academic knowledge with the modern needs of the tourism sector.
  • Coverage for Participation in 20 Training Programs: Organized by the Center for Training and Lifelong Learning (K.E.DI.VI.M.) of the Ionian University, primarily focusing on tourism. This initiative aims to enhance the professional skills of public sector employees, recognizing the importance of continuous training for development and adaptability.

Eligibility for scholarships and training programs requires possession of the Ionian Crown Card, with selections made through a draw from submitted applications. Announcements regarding the application process will be made soon on the hotel’s website.

A Holistic Approach to Local Integration

These actions are not isolated gestures of goodwill but represent a consistent corporate stance: an unwavering decision to develop business activities in an inseparable relationship with the institutions, people, and needs of Corfu. The goal is to strengthen local cooperation and offer meaningful educational and entertainment opportunities, reflecting the values and long-term commitment of Alexander Corfu S.A. to the community it has chosen to operate in.

Alexander Corfu S.A. aspires to be the entity that activates this ecosystem for Corfu, maintaining the auspices and strategic direction of the initiative. Through its connection with the Ionian University and a transparent employment model in cooperation with Ogram, the company aims to provide immediate value for Corfu and its local community, with direct benefits for the local economy and its people.

Work, learning, and belonging are central to the company’s ethos, offering clear career paths for Tourism and Informatics students of the Ionian University. These initiatives are further complemented by cultural activities, aiming for a substantial and long-term contribution to the island.
