Aer Lingus Boosts Summer Schedule with Resumed Flights to Corfu and Santorini

Corfu, Greece – May 6, 2026 – Aer Lingus is further strengthening its summer program by reinstating seasonal flights to two of Greece’s most emblematic destinations, Santorini and Corfu. This development confirms the steady demand from the Irish market for Greece, enhancing connectivity ahead of the peak tourist season.

Flights from Dublin to the two islands are resuming as part of the airline’s summer plan, which includes the return of popular seasonal routes to key Mediterranean destinations. Along with Santorini and Corfu, connections to destinations such as Pisa, Catania, and Nantes are also returning this weekend, offering a wide range of options for summer getaways.

Strategic Importance for Greek Tourism

The reintroduction of these routes is of particular importance for Greek tourism, as Ireland represents a market with growing dynamics and high per capita spending. Santorini remains a top luxury and experiential destination, while Corfu attracts a wider range of visitors, combining natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and developed tourist infrastructure.

The direct air link with Dublin facilitates attracting travelers without intermediate stops, enhancing the competitiveness of the Greek islands against other Mediterranean destinations.

Network Expansion and New Opportunities

In parallel with the return of Greek destinations, Aer Lingus is launching three new short-haul routes, connecting Cork with Nice and Dublin with Oslo and Asturias. Additionally, new connections to Montpellier and Santiago will be added during the summer, while regional flights will cover destinations such as Inverness and Tours.

On a transatlantic level, the company is strengthening its Dublin hub strategy, with the return of the connection to Denver and the addition of new routes to Raleigh-Durham and Pittsburgh. This strategy enhances the North America-Europe connection, creating additional opportunities for the Greek market through connecting flights.

Increased Demand for ‘Sun and Experiences’

According to the airline’s management, this year’s summer program responds to the growing demand for destinations that combine sun, culture, and activities. In this context, Santorini and Corfu continue to be among the top choices for Irish travelers.

The resumption of flights to the two Greek islands is expected to boost arrivals from Ireland, contributing to maintaining high demand for Greece and extending the tourist season.
