Corfu Lawyers’ Association Hosts Scientific Seminar on New Lease Law Regulations

Corfu, April 27 – The Corfu Lawyers’ Association successfully organized a scientific seminar yesterday, April 26, focusing on the “New Regulations in Lease Law, Eviction Orders, and Tenant Defense.” The event, which drew a large attendance of lawyers and judges, featured Professor Spyros Tsantinis, a distinguished professor of civil procedural law from the Law School of Democritus University of Thrace, as the keynote speaker.

Adapting to the New Legal Landscape

According to an official announcement from the Corfu Lawyers’ Association, the seminar addressed the significant changes in lease legislation, which are set to take effect on May 1st. The primary objective of the event was to ensure that legal professionals in Corfu are fully prepared to navigate this new legal landscape and effectively assist citizens with the updated regulations.

“The new landscape in lease legislation is a reality, and it will come into force from May 1st. We have been trained on these new data, with the aim of being fully prepared, always by the side of the citizen,” stated the Association in its press release.

Gratitude to Speaker and Attendees

The Corfu Lawyers’ Association extended its sincere thanks to Professor Tsantinis for his exceptional presentation and valuable insights. The Association also expressed its appreciation to the numerous lawyers and judges who honored the event with their presence, underscoring the importance of continuous professional development in the legal community.

The seminar covered crucial aspects of the new legislation, including the procedures for issuing eviction orders and the various defense mechanisms available to tenants under the updated legal framework. This proactive approach by the Corfu Lawyers’ Association aims to equip its members with the necessary knowledge and tools to effectively apply the new laws and protect the rights of their clients.

The event is part of an ongoing effort by legal associations across Greece to inform and educate their members about significant legislative changes. Similar initiatives are being undertaken to ensure that the legal profession remains at the forefront of legal developments and can provide high-quality services to the public.

The successful turnout and the active participation of legal professionals highlight the critical need for such educational initiatives, especially when dealing with complex and impactful changes in civil law. The insights provided by Professor Tsantinis are expected to be invaluable for the legal community in Corfu as they prepare for the implementation of the new lease regulations.
