Corfu: Where to Park Your Car Amidst New Traffic Regulations (April 2026)

As of April 2026, Corfu Town has implemented new extraordinary traffic regulations. In collaboration with the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands, the Port Authority, and the Corfu Port Organization, several new parking areas have been designated to facilitate vehicle movement and reduce congestion. This guide outlines all available parking spaces and provides important information for drivers.

Parking Areas for Vehicles Approaching from Corfu-Lefkimmi National Road (towards L. Dimokratias-L. Alexandras, Kolona Dougla):

  • National Sports Center of Corfu: Surrounding area.
  • Garitsa Cemetery: Outer area.
  • Open-air space for the construction of the Lyric Theater: Entrance from Cyprus Street and Eptanisou Avenue.
  • Open-air area in the prison grove.

Parking Areas for Vehicles Approaching from Corfu-Paleokastritsa National Road (towards Central Port of Corfu):

  • Central Port of Corfu (OLKE jurisdiction): Car parking at Pier 6 (entry/exit from the main port entrance).
  • New Pier: Bus parking only (entry/exit from the new ferry entrance).
  • National Resistance Street (Biological): Open-air temporary parking area.
  • Behind EPAL Corfu: Open-air area (access from Evangelou Napoleon Street).

Important Traffic Management and Enforcement:

During the implementation of these regulations, traffic will be diverted and managed through alternative routes. Drivers are urged to strictly adhere to the provisions of the Road Traffic Code, especially regarding illegal parking and driving against the extraordinary traffic regulations.

Warning: Vehicles parked illegally will be removed by tow trucks. Please respect the instructions of the Corfu Traffic Police Department officers.

Why These Regulations Are Important:

These measures aim to improve traffic flow, enhance public safety, and ensure a more organized urban environment in Corfu Town. By utilizing the designated parking areas and following the traffic police’s guidance, drivers can contribute to a smoother and more efficient transportation system for everyone.
