Vassilissis Olgas Avenue Redevelopment Completed, Fully Operational
Athens, April 8, 2026 – The redevelopment interventions on Vassilissis Olgas Avenue have been completed, and the thoroughfare is now fully operational, as announced by Anaplasis Dimosion Choron S.A. The company officially informed STASY and OASA that the road is ready to serve both traffic and public transport.
As part of the works, new bus stops and modern shelters have been installed, aiming to enhance the passenger experience. Despite the challenges encountered during the project’s execution, the avenue has been transformed into a modern and functional urban space, accessible to residents and visitors 24 hours a day.
Funding and Inter-Agency Cooperation
The project’s implementation was financed through the Public Investment Program of the Ministry of Infrastructure. Anaplasis Dimosion Choron S.A. was responsible for the tendering and supervision of the works.
The contribution of the Ministry of Culture, as well as the transport organizations, was crucial for the successful completion of the intervention and the delivery of a fully renewed road axis to the city. The reopening of the avenue is expected to enhance sustainable mobility and significantly improve daily life in the center of Athens.
