Corfu, Greece – British television personalities Amanda Holden and Alan Carr, close friends for over two decades, put their friendship to the test by renovating a house in Corfu. Their journey was documented in the new BBC series, “Amanda & Alan’s Greek Job,” which followed their complete overhaul of a stone villa in the peaceful village of Kokkini.
“Alamanda” Now on the Market
Following the extensive renovation, the property, aptly named “Alamanda,” has been put up for sale through the Rightmove platform for €675,000. The listing highlights its two bedrooms, sea views, and modern amenities, all while preserving its traditional Greek character. The house is surrounded by a walled garden, offering privacy and charm.
The main entrance leads to the ground floor, where a country-style kitchen with exposed wooden beams creates a rustic yet elegant atmosphere. Custom-made cabinets and marble countertops provide ample workspace, while large windows flood the space with natural light. The original stone flooring has been meticulously restored, further enhancing the home’s traditional appeal.
Traditional Charm Meets Modern Comfort
A stone staircase ascends to a spacious living area that seamlessly integrates a dining space and a lounge, perfect for relaxation and entertaining. The careful blend of old and new is evident throughout the property, with contemporary fixtures complementing the villa’s historical elements.
The upper floor, accessible via an external staircase, houses two bedrooms, both offering picturesque sea views. The bathroom stands out with its striking blue bathtub and vibrant, colorful tiles, adding a touch of Greek flair. The blue-framed windows and doors further accentuate the property’s authentic Greek island aesthetic.
Charitable Endeavor
The village of Kokkini is conveniently located a short distance from Agios Stefanos and close to Kassiopi, making it an attractive location for both residents and tourists. Significantly, the proceeds from the sale of “Alamanda” will be equally divided between two prominent charities: Comic Relief and BBC Children in Need, underscoring the philanthropic spirit behind the project.
The renovation project, captured for the BBC series, showcased not only the transformation of a beautiful property but also the dedication and teamwork of Holden and Carr. Their efforts have resulted in a stunning home that embodies the essence of Corfu living, now available for a new owner to enjoy.
The sale of this unique property is expected to garner significant interest, not only for its celebrity connection but also for its beautiful design, prime location, and the charitable cause it supports. It represents a rare opportunity to own a piece of renovated Greek paradise, with the added satisfaction of contributing to worthy causes.
This initiative by the British stars highlights the enduring appeal of Corfu as a destination for both leisure and investment, as well as the potential for thoughtful renovation to breathe new life into traditional Greek architecture. The successful completion and sale of “Alamanda” serve as a testament to the charm and allure of the Ionian island.
