Athens, December 11, 2025 – The highly anticipated exhibition ‘All Eyes on Palestine,’ a landmark showcase of contemporary Palestinian art, is scheduled to open its doors on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 7:00 PM. Located at Karori 15 & Voreou 4 in the heart of historic Athens, the exhibition will run from December 12, 2025, to January 25, 2026. This significant event honors 20 Palestinian artists, born between the two Intifadas, who are currently working in Gaza, the West Bank, France, the United Kingdom, and other regions.

Contemporary Art as a Tool for Resistance

The exhibition serves as a powerful platform where artists negotiate the realities of occupation, exile, and resistance, responding to the violence and erasure of the Palestinian people through acts of creation. Their works offer profound insights into the human experience under challenging circumstances, using various artistic mediums to convey their messages.

Featured Artists and Their Contributions

Among the selected artists is the multifaceted Amer Shomali, co-director of the acclaimed animated documentary The Wanted 18 and director of the Palestinian Museum in Birzeit. Shomali delves into revolutionary iconography through painting, cinema, and digital media, offering a unique perspective on historical and contemporary narratives.

Visual and multimedia artist Sharif Waked explores memory, power, and identity through video, photography, and digital painting. His work often challenges conventional understandings and invites viewers to engage with complex themes.

Palestinian-Danish artist Larissa Sansour combines video, photography, and installation with science fiction narratives to negotiate exile, trauma, and collective identity. Her innovative approach provides a fresh lens through which to view the Palestinian experience.

The exhibition also features emerging talents such as Bayan Abu Nahla, born in the new millennium, who depicts through poetic watercolors what remains in the eyes of survivors. Malak Mattar, born in 1999, is another notable artist, already an iconic illustrator and artist of her generation, whose powerful works resonate deeply with audiences.

Curatorial Vision and Support

The exhibition is curated by Elettra Stamboulis, an Italian curator of Greek origin, author, and cultural producer with extensive experience in contemporary art, comics, and socially engaged works. Her vision brings together a diverse collection of art that speaks to the Palestinian struggle and resilience.

Stamboulis is supported by Greek artist and activist Danae Stratou, president of the Center for Postcapitalist Culture – mέta, known for her large-scale installations in nature and social initiatives. Also contributing to the curatorial team is Doris Hakim, a Greek-Palestinian artist whose work explores borders, identity, and the intersections of personal and collective memory. Their combined expertise ensures a rich and impactful presentation.

Press Preview and Opening Ceremony

A press preview for the exhibition will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 12:00 PM. The curators, along with artists Duaa Qishta, Malak Mattar, Rana Bishara, and Shadi Alzaqzouq, will be present to discuss their work and the themes of the exhibition.

The official opening ceremony on December 11 at 7:00 PM will include a special performance titled “Body Rage” by Rana Bishara, promising an immersive and thought-provoking experience for attendees.
