DEDDIE (Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator) of the Corfu Region has announced planned power outages on Paxos for Saturday, November 22, 2025. These outages are necessary to carry out essential maintenance work on the central medium-voltage lines and their associated facilities.

Affected Areas and Schedules

The power interruptions will occur in two distinct timeframes, affecting various areas across the island. Residents and visitors are advised to take note of the specific schedules for their locations.

Phase 1: Short-duration Outage (07:30 AM – 09:30 AM)

The following areas will experience a power cut for a shorter period:

  • GAIOS PAXON
  • FANARIOTATIKA
  • TRANAKATIKA
  • MAKRATIKA
  • OZIA
  • ANTIPAXOS

Phase 2: Extended Outage (07:30 AM – 03:00 PM)

A longer power interruption is scheduled for these areas:

  • PART OF GAIOS
  • BOGDANATIKA
  • MAGAZIA
  • LOGGOS
  • LAKKA
  • AND THEIR SETTLEMENTS

Important Notice: While specific times are provided, DEDDIE emphasizes that work may be completed earlier than scheduled. Therefore, the DEDDIE networks should always be considered “UNDER VOLTAGE” throughout the entire period. For safety reasons, do not assume the power is off even if it appears to be.

Why the Outage?

These planned power outages are crucial for ensuring the reliability and safety of the electricity supply on Paxos. The maintenance work involves inspections, repairs, and upgrades to the island’s core electricity infrastructure, which helps prevent unexpected failures and improves overall service quality.

Recommendations for Residents

During the power outage, residents are advised to take the following precautions:

  • Unplug sensitive electronics: To protect appliances from potential power surges when electricity is restored.
  • Charge mobile devices: Ensure phones, tablets, and laptops are fully charged.
  • Prepare alternative lighting: Have flashlights or battery-powered lamps ready.
  • Keep refrigerator/freezer doors closed: To maintain cold temperatures for as long as possible.
  • Plan for medical needs: If you rely on medical equipment that requires electricity, make alternative arrangements.
  • Stay informed: Monitor local news channels or DEDDIE announcements for any updates.

DEDDIE kindly requests your understanding for any inconvenience caused by these necessary works. Your cooperation ensures a safer and more stable electricity network for everyone on Paxos.
