The Municipality of Athens invites residents to experience once again a series of free guided tours that connect the city’s past with its present. Beginning Saturday, November 15, 2025, the program offers walks through archaeological sites, museums, cultural venues, and historic neighborhoods, organized by OPANDA in collaboration with the Association of Licensed Tourist Guides of Athens.

What are the Athens Free Guided Tours?

These tours are a fantastic opportunity for both residents and visitors to delve into the rich history and vibrant culture of Athens. The program, organized by OPANDA in collaboration with the Association of Licensed Tourist Guides of Athens, aims to highlight the city’s living identity through knowledge and experience.

Mayor Haris Doukas on the initiative:

“We follow the paths of history and culture to understand Athens better. Over the coming weekends, participants will explore both familiar and hidden aspects of the city and share the experience of collective memory. I am pleased that citizens of all ages have embraced this initiative. We look forward to walking the city together.”

OPANDA President Eleni Zontirou added:

“These free tours have become a well-loved tradition that brings the public closer to Athens’ rich past and cultural heritage, highlighting the city’s living identity through knowledge and experience.”

How to Participate:

Participation in these tours is straightforward, though there are a few key points to remember:

  • Entry is free with admission vouchers: Secure your spot by obtaining a voucher.
  • Vouchers available at: more.com
  • Museum and archaeological site entrance fees: These are covered by participants. The free voucher covers the guided tour service, not entry to paid attractions.
