The Greek capital is set to become the focal point of global women’s entrepreneurship as it prepares to host the World Congress on Women’s Entrepreneurship. The event, organized by the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Greece (SEGE), aims to position the country as a hub for innovation, extroversion, and collaboration in the global business landscape.

A Milestone Anniversary for Women’s Leadership

This year’s congress holds special significance as FCEM (Femmes Chefs d’Entreprises Mondiales) celebrates 80 years of action in promoting women’s entrepreneurship and leadership on a global scale. Under the central theme “80 Years of Women Leading Entrepreneurial Legacy for Sustainable Futures,” the congress honors the past while looking toward the future of sustainable development through the power and creativity of women.

The two-day event will bring together entrepreneurial, academic, and institutional leaders from across the world, creating a unique platform for networking, international partnerships, and the exchange of ideas that can shape the future of entrepreneurship with sustainability and equality at its core.

Distinguished International Speakers and Participants

The FCEM World Congress 2025 will feature internationally recognized personalities from the business, academic, and institutional sectors. Among the confirmed speakers are Her Royal Highness Sheikha Dr. Hissah Saad Abdulah Salem Al-Sabah from Kuwait, President of the Council of Arab Businesswomen, and Dr. Marie Christine Oghly, Vice President of the ICC – World Chambers Federation and Global President of FCEM.

Elisa Fernández, Deputy Regional Director of UN Women for Europe and Central Asia, will also address the congress, bringing valuable insights on gender equality and women’s empowerment in the region.

Additional distinguished participants include Her Royal Highness Shaikha Hend Bint Salman Al Khalifa from Bahrain, President of the Children and Mothers Welfare Society, and Professor Johan Wiklund from Syracuse University in the United States, among many other prominent names in the field of women’s entrepreneurship and leadership.

Global Organizations Supporting the Initiative

The congress will host representatives from major international organizations, including UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), as well as executives from networks such as W20, Global Entrepreneurship Network, WINNET Europe, and Balkan Women Coalition (B-WCo), confirming the truly global character of the event.

The presence of these organizations underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing women’s economic empowerment and creating sustainable business ecosystems worldwide.

Greece as a Hub for Women’s Entrepreneurship

By hosting the FCEM World Congress 2025, SEGE recognizes Greece as a point of reference for women’s entrepreneurship and innovation, while simultaneously promoting the voice of Greek women entrepreneurs on the international stage. The congress represents a unique opportunity for networking, establishing international collaborations, and exchanging ideas that can shape the future of entrepreneurship with a focus on sustainability and equality.

“This is a historic moment for Greece and for Greek women entrepreneurs,” said representatives from SEGE. “The congress will showcase our country’s potential and the remarkable achievements of women in business, while creating lasting connections with leaders from around the world.”

Strong Institutional and Corporate Support

The event is held under the auspices of the Greek Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Digital Governance, Tourism, and Social Cohesion and Family, as well as the Greek National Tourism Organization and the New Metropolitan Attica.

Piraeus Bank and OECON Group serve as Gold Sponsors of the congress, while Betsson Foundation is the Silver Sponsor. Bronze Sponsors include Enterprise Greece, the Municipality of Athens, and STASY – Fixed Transport. Aegean Airlines has been designated as the Official Air Transport Sponsor.
