The Hellenic Distribution Network Operator (DEDDIE) has announced that several neighborhoods in Attica, including parts of central Athens and surrounding municipalities, will have scheduled power cuts today, Thursday, 16 October 2025. The operator has released a detailed schedule listing the affected streets and the specific times for the outages.

How long will the disruptions last?

Most of the power cuts are for maintenance and will last between two and four hours, varying by location. In Athens, the work begins at 8:00 AM on several streets and will carry on in some districts until about 4:00 PM, with different blocks being affected at different times.

Where will the power be cut today in Attica?

The announcement includes a large number of streets and areas. Some of the affected locations are:

  • Athens: Papada 12:30-16:00; Chalkokondyli (no. 1-19) 13:00-15:30.

Residents await a return to normal service

Since the power cuts are staggered street by street, most neighborhoods will keep their power while nearby blocks are temporarily disconnected. This planned schedule helps residents and businesses in Athens and the greater Attica area to work around the outages.

When will the works be completed?

All the power cuts listed are scheduled only for today. Based on DEDDIE’s timetable, the latest outages will finish around 4:00 PM in parts of Salamina and Glyfada, while power will be back on in many other areas earlier in the afternoon.

Who published the schedule and where to check updates?

The schedule for Attica was released by DEDDIE on Thursday, 16 October 2025. For any last-minute updates and to see the complete list of streets, residents should check the operator’s official announcement, which is linked below.
