Four athletes from the Athens Martial Arts Academy in Agios Dimitrios, Athens, came back from the European Kickboxing Championships in Jesolo, Italy, carrying five medals for Greece. The municipality shared the news yesterday (3 October 2025), highlighting both the national team’s great run and the role of the local club.

What results did local athletes achieve?

  • Vadim Frolov: gold in Team Event – Junior; silver in -74 PF Junior.
  • Eugenia Bexi: silver in -50 PF OC; bronze in Team Event – Older Cadets.
  • Eleni Skrivanou: bronze in Team Event – Junior; 5th place in -65 PF Junior.
  • Zenia Karapanou: 5th place in -70 PF Junior.
  • Viktoria Leontaraki: 5th place in -42 PF YC.

Who took part in the event?

The club’s group included four athletes from the Municipality of Agios Dimitrios, competing under the Athens Martial Arts Academy banner as part of Greece’s national squad. In the results shared with the announcement, Viktoria Leontaraki also appears among the top-five finishers.

Who topped the competition?

The headline came from Vadim Frolov, who won a junior team gold and an individual silver, while Eugenia Bexi added a silver and a team bronze. Along with a team bronze for Eleni Skrivanou and strong top-five finishes by Zenia Karapanou and Viktoria Leontaraki, the club’s athletes helped boost Greece’s medal count.

Why does this success matter for Athens?

Results like these grow out of steady training, discipline, and real teamwork in the local sports scene in Athens. They raise the profile of kickboxing in Agios Dimitrios, give younger athletes a push to try the sport, and show that Athens-based clubs are getting stronger across Europe.

What requires verification?

The announcement does not include the exact competition dates in Jesolo or the full rosters for each team event. It may also be worth confirming whether all names listed are linked to the local club beyond the four stated up front.

What’s next for the athletes?

At the time of writing, the club and the national federation had not shared a public schedule of upcoming events. We will update readers once official dates for the next training camps or competitions are confirmed.
